1848 was an amazing year.
Concessions were made to the lower classes to prevent social chaos. In my part of history, the Habsburgs gave the Slovak people some representation in the Austrian parliament. As well, schools were set up for Slovak children to get some basic education (I believe schools for the poor people happened throughout Europe.)
