5.5% death rate sounds similar to Canada’s. Covid-19 is indeed more lethal than the common flu.

However not everyone who gets it knows they got it. My niece caught it; she only had some mild body aches and a fever. She was up and around three days later (but probably should not have been). No one in her house caught it.
