77m Americans voted for a political party which made clear moves to turn the USA into a one-party state. The party's actions after inauguration suggest it fully intends on implementing that plan.

75m Americans voted the other way. How many of them will fight to keep American democracy around is something that will be become better known in the next few months.

86m Americans did not vote. They did not see enough difference between the two parties to make a trip to the polling station.

I saw video of AOC--in Congress-- denouncing the Trump administration. I could not help but think this lady has a target on her back. I wonder when the American version of the brownshirts will be set free to do their "patriotic work."

There are at least 100,000 Americans doing similar work as AOC. It must be extremely stressful to living life like this. How long can they keep it up?

Other Americans may support this resistance movement, but when a brownshirt knocks on their door to tell them to stop posting in the internet, will that part of the resistance fold? So much political drama yet to unfold.

If the resistance is successful, then the USA reverts back to the Democrat Party. This party, in my opinion, is a big part of the reason why the USA is in its current position. We should not depend on this party reforming itself.

I'm hoping some resistance fighters can see this logic--and put their efforts to building a new democracy. They can still do this during an oligarchy. Their work will be mostly under the radar--and seemingly inconsequential to the oligarchy. WHen the oligarchy does collapse, this new democracy might be ready, which is much better than handing power back to the Democrats.
