A Bridge from Nowhere to Nowhere

Government mismanagement again, right?

When Tyler Vigen observed a pedestrian bridge in Minnesota, he noticed it seemed to never have any pedestrians. He got a little curious and took a physical tour. This bridge crosses an interstate highway from one light industrial park to another light industrial park. There really was no reason for pedestrians to walk between these two places. Tyler wondered why the bridge was ever built in the first place.

It’s so easy to believe that some government civil servants somehow concocted a silly project to spend taxpayers’ money. That’s what civil servants do, right? Or maybe the bridge was a construction project to move government money to a secretive political player?

Tyler thought there must be more to this story. So he started digging and following rabbit trails. Which led to more digging and rabbit trails.

He eventually did find the reason for building the bridge. But I’m not going to spoil the story for you.

While the reason for the bridge is interesting, how Tyler found that reason is more interesting. A great short story about curiosity, persistence, and investigation.
