About 10 years ago, my investment advisor passed away from cancer. He had a two-year battle. I heard he was still putting a few hours in his office a day, so I stopped in to say hello. By this time, his cancer was terminal and he had lost a lot of weight. He died about a month later.
He really appreciated my visit. He said his church of 20 years could not come to face him. Apparently, he had sinned somehow, implying that he deserved this early death.
But to their credit, they did conduct the funeral.
Thankfully, a lot of Christians are not of this mindset.
