About a decade ago, CBC reported on a study that asked Canadians if they were happy with their current line of work. Only 17% said "yes." The other 83% said something like the job pays the bills.
Despite what the self-help gurus are peddling to us, "finding our passion" is likely not going to happen--statistically speaking. Most of us need a job to pay the bills. Then we need a hobby to exercise our creativity. Those that find this balance are more likely to live fulfilling lives than those chasing some dream.
And good for the 17% who do find their passion in their paycheck. Just understand that most people cannot attain this.
