About a year ago, I reading a novel from an up-and-coming science fiction writer. He put two very clever story arcs together. I was captivated at how he was going weave them together.
About four-fifths of the way through the novel, he introduced a humanoid robot. This female form was so attractive that it was seduced by the antagonist. Then the robot killed the villian.
Then the robot got into a fight with one of the protagonists. Despite being more powerful and agile and fight-trained, the robot succumbed to the protagonist. The protagonist, for some reason, cut off the robot's head and took it inside the space ship. Then the two protagonists connected the head to the ship's computer. The day (or whatever pun they use in space) was saved!
Yeesh.
Indeed, MacBeth should have known his story was not going to end well. Maybe he read the above novel.
