Anything that challenges my thinking is great.
1) In designing any concept or tool, the first question to ask is what criteria must it fulfil.
So you need to ask those who will be affected by it what they want it to do, and, equally important, want it NOT to do.
Canada has a great example. Our Westminster system sometimes (and often in British Columbia) produces an electoral results that is not in accordance with the "will the of the people." The people know this and believe it should be changed. But when the changes turn from suggestion to action, the people resist the action.
They will more readily accept it (community development theory says they will ONLY accept it) if they have a part in developing it rather than being presented with a full-meal deal right out of the box.
Other than four salient features of the TDG, I leave each local TDG to design itself. There is lots of room for "they to have a part" in the construction.
Kay Pranis (Doing Democracy With Circles) And Paulo Freire (Popular Education) have some ideas on this.
I've done some reading on sociocracy. I'd like to take some courses, but life has had a way of thwarting that. Not being able to adjust priorities is not the greatest of excuses, but that is where I'm at.
And I'm seeing some BIG warts with sociocracy--if it is move beyond the small workplace model. I'm not sure the courses will alleviate this.
2) your project could possibly meet more acceptance if it were presented as an adjunct to an existing political structure. Then if the population like what they saw, it could gradually b expanded to take on more functions.
The minute my project adapts itself to the existing system, it becomes the existing system. So there is no point.

After many years, I've come to these two conclusions:
1) The people are suspicious of any changes to the electoral system, so we are stuck with tools from the 1800s.
2) I don't have the creds to be teaching the world anything about this topic.

This fall, in my Medium and Mastodon wanderings, I am finally seeing an acceptance that the USA is heading for an authoritarian rule. With this acceptance comes the opportunity for a short-term fix. I am preparing a four-article series on this repair. No TDG stuff, but maybe this series will bring attention to the TDG. It'll start in January.
I am also seeing an opportunity to use Mastodon in my promotion. I am getting the website ready for this marketing change.

Thanks juggling up a bit of my thinking.
