As a Canadian, this term is confusing for me as well. I've never bought or eaten "Canadian bacon" or "back bacon" (that I know of).

Coming from and residing in the west, this term and/or style of bacon might be something from central or eastern Canada. As far as I understand, our "western" bacon comes from the belly.

Bacon from the loin is not really bacon in my books.
