As much as your changes are needed, I do not see the US constitution being all the reformable these days--unfortunately.
My premise is that astute Americans need to start writing a new constitution. And this writing needs to be outside of the current political process. Which is kind of what you have done.
I recently read a book from a prominent political scientist. She is expecting some kind of collapse, which will effect a negotition between the temporary holders of power and the more influential of the political scientists. The common people won't have much to do with this process.
