Back in the good old days, many women did have a sex strike until marriage. But the same was not for men of those times. They were allowed to find the few easy girls or pay for prostitutes. They needed to "sow their wild oats."

My mother tells me that growing up in the 40s and 50s, it was somewhat acceptable for a man to keep a mistress if he was still financially providing for his first family. Note that this social more kind of favored the rich man. It was not easy paying for two houses.

As for fighting alongside you, my take is that western democracy is not able to find a good balance in these matters. We need to build a new democracy.
