Canadians consume a lot of American TV and movies. There just isn't enough production in our part of the world. But we are exposed to both.

Sometimes I'll be watching a movie and somehow, just by the feel, I know it's a mostly Canadian production. When I get to the credits, I am often right.

Maybe this is part of the cleverness of this sitcom. Canadians thought Schitt's Creek was ours. And maybe too so did Americans. Not many productions can claim that.
