CBC News (from Canada) reported on this story a couple of days. I thought I must have crawled under a rock to have missed this. But it seems to have been deliberately buried. I am sensing a conspiracy.

If regulations increase the costs of running a railway, eventually the consumers will pay that price. That price is cheaper than having hazardous trains derailing.

If our political leaders cannot figure this out, then it is time for a new democracy.
