I am interested in becoming a writer for this Medium publication.

For the past 22 years, I have been working on a project to bring an alternative version of democracy to the world. This version will be bereft of all political parties — which I believe are the real reasons the western world seems to be drifting into a whirlpool. We need new electoral structures and a new culture.

In 2016, I brought this project off the shelf, hoping that the rise of Mr. Trump would cause some Americans to recognize it is time for this new way. I was mistaken. The project was heading back to the shelf to collect dust.

Then a fellow from a G+political group suggested I write a novel based on future people in this TDG. At first it seemed like a strange idea (I have never fiction nor do I aspire to make a living as a writer). But as the months went on, I realized (1) I can do this fiction, (2) it is a different way of marketing this concept, and (3) a plot and characters were forming in my head. Last July, I formally started the project — and the first draft almost wrote itself. I anticipate having this novel complete by mid-January.

I would like to park this novel somewhere other just my website.

Medium does allow long “articles”. And they seem to stay somewhat active for a couple of years. These two features are an advantage over other internet forums I have belonged too.

Your publication is new and active. And it seems to be accepting of an artistic approach to politics.

My plan is to put up six articles in a Medium publication. Each article constitutes one chapter of the novel. The average length is about 10,000 words.
