DJB: I figured we were probably going backwards in 1992. That's when I realized that life inside of any political party is dysfunctional: too many people climbing over each other to acquire more status, influence, and power. For sure, things were not going to get better. Seems I was right.

It is plausible of a short, one-party rule in the USA. The TDG can still be built in that kind of environment.
