Even two years ago, I would have said that the various systems of western democracy--American, British, and western European--were roughly equivalent in their ability to serve society well. I would have given each system a grade of C.
Today, I have put graded the American system with a D. It has been at a D for a long time. I just didn't see the signs. And it is moving towards an F.
