Faye: This article really resonated with me. From my perspective, everyone is the problem. We are chasing solutions that are not going to work.
If you write a piece on the World Bank, you would only be re-iterating what some academics have already pointed out. It is not likely your piece would result in any meaningful reform because our elected representatives seem incapable of reforming such institutions. Even if you can contribute to enough public pressure to reform the WB, this public pressure will distract from other issues that need addressing.
If you write a piece on Kevin McCarthy, you will be one of hundreds to write such a piece. Mr. McCarthy and his allies will continue to ignore such articles. It is doubtful that your additional article will force him out. Even if he is somehow replaced, his replacement might be worse.
In the Medium pub "Unpopular Opinions," I have written a piece about how elevating the human condition is an unpopular opinion. It seems my article has fulfilled its self-prophecy: it has $0.59 in Medium royalties and the few comments it got can be summarized that the human condition cannot be elevated.

From my perspective, average people writing articles about the World Bank or Kevin McCarthy are a total waste of time. There are already recognized forces working to change things in this way.
That time and energy can spent working on an alternative democracy. As this democracy matures, people like Kevin McCarthy won't be elected and institutions like the World Bank will be accountable to elected legislatures.
From my perspective, you all have been mass distracted. You cannot believe an alternative democracy is possible.
A kinder, wiser democracy.
