For a short time, I used to think libertarianism was the ideological answer. THen I read a National Geographic article about a new retirement town in the American Southwest.
The working peple had an underfunded school. The best way to get their kids properly educated was to raise property taxes. But the rich retired people were against this idea.
I remember being so dumbfounded that the retired people need the young middle class families to run their town. The retirees just could not see the connection between their own well being and the well being of the workers in the town.
There are some good points to the conservative ideology. But many of their points cannot be defended by logic.
