For me, the $ per article are a better indicator of what readers like reading than reads or views.

Admittedly, there is some ego involved when a little money exchanges hands. Even $2.00 makes me happy.

And I need to generate a little revenue so that I can write off my writing expenses. The Canadian tax authorities don't like businesses that have no revenues. I probably would not be able to write off "writing losses" against my other income.

I blame my recent drop on my new Medium strategy. In other words, that strategy is not working. But maybe there is something internally happening in Medium.
