For some reason, sexual trends are somewhat fascinating for me. From the studies I have read over the years, I can summarize our current social evolution.

Prior to the Pill, we could say that we were in a sexually repressed society. Women were socially encouraged to stay celebate until marriage or near marriage. If an unmarried man wanted sex earlier than marriage, a prostitute was the usual way to go.

When the Pill came along, a major constraint for women to have pre-marriagae sex was taken away. And the studies showed more women were engaged in such. And the use of prostitutes also diminished.

This seemed to have peaked about 1990, the sexual mores curves has been flatlining ever since (according to my readings). But for sure, we are having more sex today than in the 1950s. People today have more social choices--and many of these choices are not as frowned upon as they used to be. In other words, we have become less sexually repressive.

So we can compare the effects of sexual repressions from pre-1960 to post-1990. Which society was stronger?

Of course, the answer to this this questions is a matter of opinion. But you have stated that western civilization has been on some sort of decline for the past few decades--and we are heading for some dystopic future. So freeing up sexual mores has not brought about a better society.

Just thought I would point this out.
