For some strange reason, partisan politics seldom has a role to play in Canada's municipal system. However it is still a significant ways from a TDG. When the TDG can govern municipally wisely, then more of us will see the potential for provincial and national.

It is quite natural for the TDG to start municipally. I suspect in the bigger cities, the TDGs will become more proactive in governance issues within the municipal wards.

One key component is that most voters will have to accept they can no longer vote for the top dog. Fortunately, most voters are not political junkies.
