We've had these discussions before and not come to any agreed conclusion.

Here is the big difference between systems with political parties and the TDG.

In the former, political parties aspire to gather votes from certain demographics. In this way, the parties get a mandate to move governance in a certain direction. They might be successful, somewhat successful, or not. If not, their voters should abandon that political party.

In the TDG, elected representatives are asked to make decisions on the betterment of society. If they are successful, the citizens will be happier and not inclined to revolt.

Maybe to illustrate this point, a PR and FPTP voter should be asking: "What can Political Party X do for me?" Whereas a TDG voter will be asking "Which neighbor is most likely to help make society better?"

And I think I should leave it that.
