To address the blocking problem, my take is that it may be more of the Medium algorithm not to showing the writers that the readers want to see. My feed is 30% writers I follow and 10% top writers (which I usually do not follow). The other 60% are writers I do not follow and are often new to me. But the topics of these writers is usually in line with my preferred reading.

I would say that I see your articles times a week. I probably read half of them.

--------------

The fellow from Canada might wish his elected representatives represented their constituency. But the Westminster system really won't allow that.

I have recently published an 8-part series on "Politics vs. Governance". You might be interested in Part 4

https://medium.com/tiered-democratic-governance/politics-vs-governance-part-4-6e7877a2671f

and Part 5

https://medium.com/tiered-democratic-governance/politics-vs-governance-part-5-18d2ecc8ec7b

These two sections show that Canadian politicians work for their party, not the constituents.

When a Canadian politician says, "I consulted with my constituents," it usually means his constituency board, which is full of partisans.

In most constituencies, opinion is far from unified on most issues.

And most Canadian voters base their vote on the party or party leader. The quality of the local candidate is distant third. Sometimes a "one issue" can have some importance in an election.

Thanks for the positive comment. I shall be continuing as spare time allows.
