From my perspective, this was an unconventional angle to this issue. I didn't see the connection to eventual reparations.
My position has been that affirmative action was a band-aid solution in the first place. Unfortunately, the USA (and other democracies) were not able refine these ideas as time passed.
You were the first writer (that I have encountered) to use some statistics on this issue. The fact that African-Americans comprise 13% of the population and their college admissions are much less than 13% shows there is still a lot of inequality--even with affirmative action.
