From what I can gather, most of the Russian speakers in Ukraine have soundly rejected Russian rule. Odessa, Kharkiv, Kherson, and other cities.

But what is the psyche of the Russians in Crimea? They were not happy with Ukrainian rule. And they number about 80% of population.

If they have not change their allegiance, it might be hard for the Ukrainian army to hold on to this territory.
