Garry. Or we could say that this minority is actually working the system to its own self interest. That would be their democratic right. If the other side is apathetic, well . . . . .

I spent six years in a Canadion political party. I saw a small minority of Canadians having a political force much greater than their numbers trying to get their way--legally speaking. I was part of that force.

This imbalance has been going on for a long time in western democracies. The Republicans, for whatever reason, have been able to really grab onto that imbalance.

As you know, I believe it's time to build a new democracy. Just like the founding fathers.
