George Floyd complied to the police. And he died. George Floyd did everything right in his encounter with police.

So my question now is: "How often when an arrestee complies does he get killed before he is put in jail?"

I suspect the answer is: "Not often." Most arrests are rather routine, especially if the arrestee is in a compliant state.

Does this one instance of a terrible arrest justify to others that it is better to beak off and fight back when being arrested?

Or maybe said in a different way: "What are the odds of staying alive and unhurt in a compliant arrest when compared to a violent arrest?"

I watch too much CNN. For some reason, they can't ask these questions. They seem to leave it open that every time a white police officer engages with a n African-American civilian, the result is similar to George Floyd.

Don't get me wrong. Racism was a big part in the death of George Floyd. And it stems from the police force's inability to discipline the officer in previous cases of rough arrests, and we should call that systemic racism.

But the George Floyd outcome is not common place, even with the USA in its current state. The USA is not learning the right lessons here.
