Governments failed in that they weren't prepared for a pandemic. The experts were telling them a Spanish-flu like pandemic is inevitable, so it's time to get some things ready. The wiser western world was caught totally off guard.

And it my part of the world, governments are trying to educate people about doing their part to reduce the spread. Some are complying; some are disregarding the advice.

In the eyes of those disregarding the advice, "government" is something not to be trusted. So why listen?

There are good reasons for this distrust. Until they are addressed, we will continue to find it difficult to implement good rules for something like Covid.

The TDG will be the answer. People will trust it a lot more than current versions of democracy.
