Great article. I have your book on my Kindle reader, but maybe it is #3 on my reading list. Medium has led me to so many good books.
I had a couple of feelings from this article. Given that it is so American-centric, it would seem more appropriate to change “religious affiliation” to “Christian affiliation.” I believe Islam is growing in USA, but because it is so small, that growth is hard to see.
My personal experience with the slow decline in religion (Christian) comes from too many Christians not really trying to follow their teachings. Their example seems to suggest that religion is irrelevant to those of us on the fence of this subject. Maybe Apollo and Hubble and 911 had something to do with the decline. But I would wager that if the “right words = right actions” were employed more often, more people would see the sense of religion. In other words, organized Christianity is falling in on itself rather than by external forces.
I binge watched “Ancient Aliens” for a few hours. I am not finding much sense of purpose in this movement for making the world a better place. Religion, if appropriately applied, still can do this.
