Ruthenians in Slovakia and Ukraine are usually lumped in with their dominant cultures. Those living in Poland seem to have a separate identity as "Lemko."

Slovaks coming to Canada and the USA brought skills as miners. They easily found employment in the minefields, especially in Pennsylvania. Probably many Ruthenians among these Slovaks.
