Great article. We need to get over our stereotypes of places like Kansas.
According to the 2016 election results, Mr. Trump got 56% of votes; Ms. Clinton got 36%.

If we are to assume the vote also projects a certain mindset or ideology, then more than one-third of Kansans do not subscribe to the right-wing agenda. Kansas is far from being united politically.
And likewise for the “blue” states. The D’s do not dominate these cultures.
I would even say that more Kansans did not vote than voted for Mr. Trump. A D victory in Kansas is indeed possible — if the D’s can convince to make the effort to the polls.
It’s time USA got over its red/blue divide.
Maybe it’s time USA started building a new system of governance.
