Great post. It speaks to the fallacy of representation. Truth be told, the first loyalty of our elected reps is to their party, not the people that voted them in.

I spent six years in a Canadian political party. Life inside the parties is dysfunctional. Somehow, I invented another system.

Much smaller electoral districts. Neighbors will be voting for fellow neighbors. So there's no 68-year old Ph.D. getting elected in the second poorest district in the USA.
