Gwyn Dyer wrote a book called "War" about 1995. He had several interesting points. One being is that "next real big war" will be short. All these sophisticted war toys just cannot be mass produced like the toys in WW2. A plane or tank gets shot down, it will be two or three years to replace it.
And there will be no superior war toys overtaking current war toys every six months. The models in the current inventory will be the same models at the end of the war.
I wonder if the powers-that-be are making moves to bring chip manufacturing behind future front lines. Methinks they are still going for the lowest price .
