Hello Sasha

I thought I should just explain myself here. I have been using "Mr. Trump" most of the time. Mostly because he did earn his votes in 2016 and 2020. In this way, he was a fairly honest politician because what we saw before he ran for high office was what we got after he attained his high office. There really should have been no surprises.

USA has changed. Mr. Trump was unelectable in 2004, but 12 years later, he was a credible candidate. And after an inept presidency, he was still credible with his voters.

This change has deep roots. In 1984, front-runner Garry Hart withdrew from the Democrat presidential primary because he was seen on a sailing boat with a young woman. Fourteen years later, Mr. Clinton politically survived his affair in the White House. I believe there is a correlation between the Clinton affair and rise of Donald Trump. You may not agree, but the nature of American politics requires a change of only a few percentage points in opinion to effect a different political result. American history is fickle. Had the D's convicted Mr. Clinton in 1998, we would have had that different result.

I'm not sure whether you have caught on, but I'm advocating for a different kind of democracy. And one of the principles of this new democracy is that everyone (over a certain age) is entitled to vote. People who believe affairs are OK get to vote. People who would prefer an oligarchy over a democracy get to vote.

To use a more disrespectful salutation might earn claps from Medium readers. But it would also unnecessarily disrespect the people who voted for Mr. Trump. When we can disrespect these voters, we can then start believing these people do not deserve the right to vote because they voted so stupidly last time. This oligarchy thing can swing both ways.

The electoral system in the USA is deeply flawed. It failed to weed out someone like Mr. Trump. I prefer to criticize this system rather than the person.
