Here is my review of "The Yugas". While it had a rather profound statement for democracy, its focus was somewhere other than systems of governance.

To summarize "The Struggle for Democracy", Watson spent time with Gadaffi (Libya) and Mugabe (Zimbabwe). He went to Argentina where the military trained itself to govern. I just did a quick search in this book. It was 1988, before communism fell.
