My only concern is the transition from one job to another or perhaps a period of unemployment. It seems the Japanese citizen has to be on top of transfer when such a life change is made to be covered for health insurance.

In Canada, we are always covered. So there’s no concern about changing jobs or being unemployed. I believe that is a positive attribute to the economy when people don’t have this worry.
