Here's another angle to this "quiet quitting."
Many people are moving from part-time minimum wage jobs to full employment. The vacancies they leave behind would normally be filled, but maybe younger workers are becoming less materialistic. They don't need the hassle of a part-time income bad enough.
The labor market would need only a 2% drop in young people willing to take on these jobs. In other words, quiet quitting is not endemic. But there is a shortage.
Of course, higher wages should solve this problem. But business people often cannot see this solution.
