Here's two problems with a revolution:

1) The victors of a revolution are not exactly democratic players themselves. They usually set things up to give them and their buddies privileged positions in this new democracy.

2) If the victors are more sane and wise than your average revolutionary, they will call in the leading political scientists to give us a new democratic model. But this democratic model would not be that much different than our current model. You know, the model that got us into this mess in the first place.

I hope this review or the actual read of "Open Democracy" convinces you that the political scientists do not understand how we came from 1970 to today.

Neither the victors of a future revolution nor the political scientists have any idea of how to fix this mess.
