Hey Bang Stick

Thanks for the positive comment. I can’t seem to get much traction for my articles on Medium (the algorithms don’t like me). But when I attach a comment to Umair’s musings, I seem to get some attention.

Your comment about locally is very appropriate. I would say my town and county councillors are governing well. I haven’t heard of any scandal, corruption, or incomprehensible decisions on their part since I moved back home 20 years ago. These representatives just seem happy to serve on the Councils. Part of this is because they have a personal reputation with many voters, so they have earned some trust and respect before they got into civic politics. The other part is that there are no political parties at the municipal level. Political parties bring a lot of crap to the decision making process, which even the best of us have to deal with.

Provincially and federally in Canada, there is a different story. But wouldn’t it be nice to bring that municipal culture to the higher levels?

The TDG will start out locally — and can bring a similar, if not enhanced, culture to what I’m seeing municipally. Then it can expand that culture to the higher levels.

Give the TDG a read.
