I think Umair is paraphrasing things that many of us were dreading ever since Covid came on the scene. Viruses mutate and can stay ahead of the vaccines. Covid might be around for a long time.

How to handle Covid? Well Umair is short of any solution here. Like usual. Just blast the politicians for their ineptness. Sounds like the old men at my town's coffee shop who complain about government.

I have a solution: it's time to build another system of governance.

Covid seems to be killing 1% of the people it infects. At this point, maybe a similar amount are being inflicted with a long-term disability.

The next pandemic might be 5% or 15%. If we don't change the system, the same ineptness is sure to follow.

Reading more Umair articles won't bring about the changes we are really looking for.
