Hi again.
I found one of your comments interesting. And last week, I had a little challenge with one of followers. So there seems to be a working of Medium I do not understand.
Last week, Sam responded by email that he wanted to read one of my Medium articles. But he had used all of his free passes. So I sent him the text by email.
Then you mentioned something about "behind paywall."
Slowly, I coming to see how 2+2=4 in this feature.
I'm on MPP and my articles are listed as "member only," which I did not pay much attention to. But it seems that a reader must be a subscriber to get my articles. Which then means my Medium articles are not available to the general public.
By going off MPP, your articles are not available to the general public. Is this correct?
For almost a year, I have been on Mastodon (a twitter clone), providing links to my Medium articles. So can these Mastodon people get access to these Medium articles-----at least for a free trial?
I'm not seeing much traction from Mastodon, much less engagement than Medium. But my situation is normal. At least 80% of the Mastodon posts on my feed have no engagement. Maybe 90%!
Medium has a provision to identify where the external visitor came from. It lists LinkedIn, where I sometimes promote. But nothing from Mastodon. I thought the Medium software hasn't caught up to Mastodon's new popularity. But maybe it just not like Mastodon people who are not Medium subscribers.
Anyways, you might have some insights.
