Hi again John

Before the Trump rise, there was a filtering process in American politics, including the party primaries, that got rid of many of the foolish people. I just stick to those "good old days" for the moment. Canada was similar, and to some extent, still is in these good old days.

But I saw a few people elected into the legislature who should have not been there. Even a dead person!

Most of the party members voting in internal party election are almost as blind as the general public. Candidates, for a short time, can hide their problems with alcohol or sex or silliness in these internal contests. They can still win.

The TDG election are different in that it would be hard for a silly person be elected. His/her neighbors will know something about this person--and cast their vote to someone else.

Someone like Donald Trump would probably not get the approval of his neighbers. If he does, he probably would not rise very high. And he would be frustrated at being in the low levels of the TDG.

In other words, voters in the TDG would know a lot about possible contenders because they have socialized and worked with them. Most of voters seldom know much about the people on the ballot.
