Hi Marley
I watched the breakfast club clip. I didn't see anything overtly racist about it.
It was just another carefully practiced and designed political event.
Mr. Biden's tone was, in my opinion, a bit cocky. But his campaign team did their focus group stuff and probably found this attitude and his "chosen topics" more conducive to getting votes than other approaches and topics.
In the African American vote being taken for granted by the D Party? Most likely. But we knew that before this interview. There are probably more white liberal voters than black voters.
I remember Paul Martin, a very short-term Canadian prime minister, saying, after his political life was over: "We politicians can't win. If we come across with strong ideas, we are cast as inflexible. If we come across as open minded, we are cast as indecisive." {my paraphrasing]
But sometime and somehow, politicians need to make a stand in how they present themselves. Maybe they make the right decision in this regard, maybe not.
When the USA implements the TDG, we won't be having discussions like this.
