Hi Scott. Yes, it would be an onerous task to monitor comments manually. Maybe this was one reason why Writerbeat could not grow.

I was inspired to put the Writerbeat story up because of a slant in your “Editor’s Picks.” I sensed you were getting a little tired of PS. You might be editing too many essays these days. One direction to conserve your energy and enthusiasm would be publish writers who are more of a community mindset; i.e. those who are commenting lots on others’ works. I think you might have a good idea who is doing this by maybe spending an hour a week with the articles. Weed out those writers who are just posting. That would get rid of some editing work — especially if they are posting every day.

But this is your call.
