Hmmm. My wife and I belong to the lower middle class. We do not drink or smoke. We drive old cars. But we do not lack for comforts.

Vacations? Our budget allows for a getaway for a few days. There is no going to Hawaii for 2 weeks.

Our incomes are insufficient to produce assets to work for us. We are probably at the maximum of our earning as wage-earners. We don't the disposable income to acquire assets.

All these ideas work for those who have above average incomes. These people can gain "assets". Admittedly too many waste the opportunity they have been given.

But for those of us on the fringes, it is a pipe dream.
