Hmmmm

Dancing around certain issues, not answering the question, has been a trait of many politicians for a long time. The reason is simple, if they give an honest answer, that answer tends to lose votes. Politicians and their handlers develop an instinct for this. If they don't, they can be described as "unelected."

It was too late for the Democrats to hold a proper primary contest. And such a contest would have created a lot of infighting, which then would have had a negative impact on November 5. I think the Democrats made the right call here, given how this drama unfolded. But it would have been better if Joe had decided not to run again.

Ms. Harris is probably one of six competent people to lead the Democrat Party in these times. Had the selection provided someone different, that person would also be criticized for this and that.

If we want a democratic system which honesty is more valued and the selection of our leaders is a more open process, I have a solution.
