Hmmmmm. I'm guilty of these "bad things" to some degree.

I would say that the general psychology of Medium contributors is that they would much prefer to be read than to read. (I'm guilty as charged). The one big Medium contributor (initials UH) does not interact with anyone from what I can see.

Unfortunately, Medium is pretty big. Building up a rapport to be taken seriously will be a lot of extra effort on my part. And I'm exactly sure people want my "stuff" regardless of how I package it.

So I have a choice of being a little spammy with a lower time investment or "become a friend" that will require a much bigger time investment. Neither seems to be working for me.
