Hoping is not going to accomplish much. How far the R vigilantism goes is out of our control. Mr. Trump only need say "Occupy federal buildings", and the USA has 100 Waco sieges to deal with.

Of course, this could escalate further into "revolution and secession." Trouble is that the red and blue states have too many people of the other side. So there is no convenient border to separate the two sides.

I think the Russian Civil War will the model of this civil war. Roaming band of rag-tag armies showing up here and there until one side runs out of stuff to fight with. Most citizens just have to keep their heads low and hide their food.

Even with a civil war, at least 90% of the population will survive--even if the USA breaks into different pieces. The question should be: "What will America government look like after that.

From what I can see, it will take on the same structure as it has now. I'm not hopeful.
