How are we supposed to solve anything, when half the country can’t even talk to the other half anymore?

Here’s my idea. Get them to work together on something else. In time, they will learn to trust and respect each other, then have a reasonable discussion on gun control.

That something else could be my alternative system of governance. I envision both conservatives and liberals realizing the current system is broken AND are willing to put a few hours a month into building another system. The C’s and L’s will be coming together to build this system. But they will know to stay away from topics such as gun control. Rather they will talk about rules for membership and election. The premise is that as this system matures (meaning people of differing opinions can talk to each other), they will be able to find that balance.
