Your secession idea won't work. Despite many states always voting red or always voting blue, all states have a significant minority of the other side of the political spectrum. Is Oklahoma going to run all Democrats out of the state?

I think your analysis is all wrong. Europe has several social democracies--with lots of left-leaning ideas incorporated into governance. These states are not failing. Socialism is not the big evil conservatives like to play it up.
